Enrolment update!

two learners at Certificate Day, July 200830 September 2008

The new academic year has started, and we are still very busy enrolling learners onto courses. As always, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses are proving very popular, but there is strong demand across the programme.

We are constantly revising our programme to reflect demand from the local community, and have added some new courses this year. For example, we now offer an NVQ level 2 in Business Administration, and have improved our Childcare training provision.

The popularity of our courses is partly down to the outstanding results we have achieved. Last year, 85% of participants in the Train to Gain programme successfully completed the course, against a national average of 66%. And the Adult Appprenticeship achieved a success rate of 75%, where the national average is 50%.

Our local provision, and the flexible nature of our programme, also helps learners to find the right course for them, especially parents and others who have to juggle many different commitments.

Crucial to our programme are the Learning Ambassadors help people find out what's available, and give impartial advice on learning new skills.
