Thank you to Anne Matthews

Anne Matthews14 November 2008

Colleagues past and present, and people who have been involved with the Centre over the years, gathered this week to thank Anne Matthews for all her support and mark her retirement from Poplar HARCA after many years service.

Anne leaves Poplar HARCA after many distinguished years' service in the public sector. She became a councillor in Southwark in 1982, and was leader of the council between 1986 and 1990. She has also worked for Islington Council's Policy Development Office, and been a school govenor for many years.

Anne was instrumental in developing the close working relationship between Poplar HARCA and the Bromley by Bow Centre. As the major landlord in Bromley by Bow, Poplar HARCA is crucial to the regeneration and development of the area.

Although retiring from her day job, we are delighted that Anne will continue to serve on the board of the Centre, where her knowledge and expertise has proved invaluable.
