Launched this week at No.11 Downing Street, the East London Bond is an innovative campaign to spark renewal in East London. By investing in the Bond, you can help to transform some of the most deprived communities in England.
Described in the Financial Times by Andrew Hill on Saturday 14 November as ‘Financial engineering to be proud of’ charitable bonds are a relatively new concept in the UK. However it’s an initiative which is really striking a chord with our friends and supporters. We are inviting our supporters to buy a secure five-year bond, administered by Citylife, and to receive the money back in full in five years time.
In the meantime, your money will be put to good use, funding Bromley by Bow Centre and Community Links to create a long-term legacy in East London and create change for generations to come.
Bondholders can invest upwards of £500 and the family-owned construction company Wates Group has already pledged a generous £1 million.
The East London Bond subscription list will open in early December. This form of investment is ideal for a company or individual with funds available who wants to help create transformational change in East London. At a time of relatively low interest rates this is an even more attractive option.
East London Bond investors will make a real difference to the lives of people who need our help most. It will support people to learn new skills and get jobs; it will tackle chronic illness and it will enable local residents to establish dynamic new social enterprises across East London.
