14 December 2009
On Saturday 12th December, 29 children from the Centre's 'Undercover Gardeners,' run in partnership with the Bow Bridge Environment Trust, enjoyed a trip to the Natural History Museum. Funded by Children in Need, the children ice skated for an hour in the morning and then took part in a 'Dino- Scientist' tour of the museum in the afternoon.
Project coordinator Lisa Cunningham was delighted that so many children were able to come this year. 'This is the largest group we've had on a trip, and although a challenge for me and the three youth workers (from Leaders in Community) it was a rewarding and enjoyable experience. It was great to see the children smiling and trying something new. With only one minor injury on the ice I think we can say it was a success!'
The children will be having fun at their Christmas party at the Centre this Thursday, and the final gardening sessions of the year take place on saturday. All in all a busy week for the young gardeners!
