Ex London Welsh rugby player Tom Audley is swapping scrums, mouth guards and drop kicks for a punishing 26 mile run through London to raise funds for the Centre.
After retiring from professional rugby on medical grounds Tom was keen to take on a new challenge whilst supporting the Centre. Last week Tom and Charles Tongue, a Brighton Marathon runner, visited the Centre to see the difference their fundraising would make. During the visit Tom and Charles had tea and cake with the elderly members of Young@Art and spoke with Michael Mullender from our employment service about how the Centre's work helping local people into work.
Tom is excited to be supporting the Centre: "I am really pleased that my fundraising will give people the chance to achieve their dreams or show their talents. When I visited the centre, I saw how it has so much to offer and the people I met who work and use the Centre are so friendly and hard working."
So far Tom has raised an impressive £2,150 through his JustGiving page. If you would like to support Tom and the Bromley by Bow Centre visit his page http://www.justgiving.com/Tom-Audley
We would like to wish Tom the best of luck for the London Marathon!
