30 January 2012
In the Olympic year, the Bromley by Bow Centre is offering a team of riders the chance to cycle the 100km unique Nightrider course and give vulnerable people in one of the UK's most deprived communities the chance to transform their lives.
As the sun sets, Riders will start at either Alexandra or Crystal Palace and follow a course passing over 50 of London's iconic landmarks. Cycle past a deserted Tower Bridge, City of London and Canary Wharf; discover Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square as they come alive at night plus many more of London's attractions all bathed in moonlight. Riders will see the sun rise over Hampstead Heath and, to the sound of the Dawn chorus, will reach their final destination of either Alexandra or Crystal Palace greeted by a finisher's breakfast!
"There were some great sights and some great moments." Paul, Nightrider 2011
The Nightrider is a crucial fundraiser for the Bromley by Bow Centre. Last year our cyclists raised an amazing £20,000 which has enabled the Centre to continue to work with over 2000 families, adults and young people each week to learn new skills, improve their mental and physical health, find employment and start their own business.
"I found the Bromley by Bow Centre team a very open group and I felt welcomed and supported." Alice, Nightrider 2011
As a member of the Bromley by Centre team, all cyclists are invited to the Centre to see the difference that their fundraising will make.
