Google's Digital Garage comes to BbBC!
Published: 24 Oct 2016
Since September the Digital Inclusion team at the Bromley by Bow Centre have been offering training in digital marketing. Developed by Google, the program aims to help boost user's digital knowledge to help grow their business, career or just their confidence.
The Google Digital Garage is a library of video tutorials on whole range of topics (89 in total!), including, creating a website, search engine optimisation, online advertising, social media and sales. Once registered, the training can be completed online - anywhere, anytime!
These past few weeks we have been integrating this new training into what is already on offer at the Centre. Attendees of basic digital classes are quizzed on their ambitions to put their businesses online, the employment team have been referring people who are keen to gain new skills, and we'll be taking it to ESOL classes soon.
Staff have taken advantage of this opportunity too. In October, 12 members of staff enjoyed an introductory session to the Digital Garage over a free lunch. Business owner and digital enthusiast Chris Coyle said:
"After using Google Garage for the first time, I am impressed with the range of relevant areas covered to help my business improve its online presence. The online tutorials are easy to follow and not too long, perfect for taking in a new subject in under half an hour. The BBBC kindly provided a delicious lunch too - great food always makes learning so much more enjoyable!"
Anyone can benefit, regardless of their skill level, goals or background. Whether you have a business that you looking to get online, or just want to gain new digital skills, come along to our Google Digital Garage drop-ins on Tuesday from 10 - 12 in the Bromley by Bow Centre IT room. Register for the Digital Garage and get support from our digital team in implementing what you learn.
