Day time services and activities for people with disabilities

Our Social Care service is one of the Bromley by Bow Centre's key areas of delivery as part of our Adult Health and Wellbeing programme. The service promotes inclusion, based on the needs of adults with a range of learning, physical and mental health support needs as well as older people. We help individuals to live as part of the community and as independently as possible.

We offer a variety of weekly activities including horticulture, health and wellbeing and an assortment of creative arts groups. The service promotes independence and learning through these activities and gives people the ability to develop new social networks and friendships. We work with individuals to build a programme of support activities, based on their needs, interests and aspirations.

Our sessions are delivered in multi-purpose craft and activity rooms as well as outdoors in parkland and gardens. There are IT facilities and a café on site; all fully accessible.

Our service users said, 'The Centre is brilliant, I love being here!' and 'I feel like part of the family - so many lovely people'.

This year we are working to expand our Social Care offer. Our health and wellbeing groups now run twice a week and incorporate learning about nutrition as well as physical activity. Our new therapeutic horticultural groups run regularly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and we continue to build on our officer of one-to-one support in the community as well as support for carers.

Our services start from £36 for half a day. If you'd like to find out more, you can view our service leaflet here and sign up for the Social Care e-newsletter here.
