Dinner with a difference: Scotch and Ginger Supper Club
Published: 25 Apr 2017
On the 25th March the Bromley by Bow Centre was transformed into a restaurant by the talented Scotch and Ginger to help raise vital funds to support our work.
What a better way is there to celebrate the spring equinox and shake off the winter than with a sumptuous four course feast served up in the heart of the community? We were delighted to welcome Scotch and Ginger (aka Duncan and Lisa) for the evening as they brought their sell out and infamous supper club to the Centre for a special one off event. Over 60 people had the opportunity to enjoy a variety of culinary delights including; Spring Bruschetta, Easter Pie, Roasted Goat and Blood Orange Tart all while surrounded by fairy lights, beautiful floral displays and spring flowers grown by our Tuesday Growing Group.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Scotch and Ginger, their volunteers on the night and all the guests who raised a fantastic £1578! This wonderful amount will go towards enabling us to continue our life changing work with some of the most deprived in our community.
As well as cooking up a storm in the kitchen, Duncan (Scotch) ran the London Marathon on behalf of the Centre. The supper club was one in a series of fantastic fundraising events to help him to reach his fundraising target - If you would like to show your support to Duncan you can visit his fundraising page HERE.
