Allen & Overy - The Bethnal Green Terracotta Army
Allen & Overy, the international legal practice, enabled the Signs of Life social enterprise at the Bromley by Bow Centre through funding and volunteer work. This enabled artists from the Centre and volunteers from Allen & Overy to work with students at Bethnal Green Technology College to produce 180 Bethnal Green Warriors from clay. The students took their inspiration from this year’s prestigious exhibition of the original Terracotta Army, seen in early 2008 at the British Museum for the first time outside China. The Bethnal Green Warriors were seen by hundreds of visitors at Rich Mix in May and June 2008, and then put on display at the school. Allen & Overy generously funded the project and their volunteers supported the students in making the army.
