Complete transformation of unused part of playground into a 21st Century sustainable garden with people-powered waterwheel for harvesting rainwater. Outdoor classroom with raised beds for gardening clubs and study of wild flowers and herbs. Consultation, design and build. |

Children were fully engaged with each stage of concept, design, build and aftercare. Here students demonstrate the waterwheel. Water is diverteded into areas of the garden to feed the plants. |

Project designer, Julia Hilton, was onsite throughout managing the build and ensuring that each stage of development met precisely with the plans. Environmental management throughout the build process was key to its success. |
