G4S is the largest security services company in the UK and Ireland with a turnover of more than £1.2 billion and 40,000 employees. More than 6,000 customers, including the majority of UK Government departments and many schools and community health centres, depend on G4S to provide them with a safe and secure way to deliver their services.
The company has been a key partner of the Bromley by Bow Centre for many years and provides support through a diverse range of partnership projects. G4S is a key customer to our social enterprises and have helped us generate significant revenues through the provision of products and services. This has included placing orders with our landscaping business Green Dreams including the contract to provide grounds maintenance to 26 Tower Hamlets’ schools and the commission to create a therapeutic garden at Mile End Hospital.
Additionally we have delivered a range of learning and employment solutions for G4S staff working in Tower Hamlets. In return we have contracted G4S to provide management support in facilities management and human resources. We are also grateful for the core support that G4S has provided the Centre through a generous donation toward the salary of the Chief Executive.
This enables us to build our capacity to grow and develop our services strategically. This is further enhanced by consultancy support that we have provided to G4S and joint bidding for health contracts.
