The Nicaragua Diary
Day 1
Pretti says "I just laughed all day, and had the most nasty tortilla thing that I ever tasted"
Jessie says "All the murals we have seen are colourful, and they all have a purpose, and tomorow we will show them our skills and learn in the first workshop"
Paul says "We started thinking about what theme we will be using to put on the mural and i have learned more spanish. Adios for today"
Jenny says "Today was fun! We thought about some themes for the mural and organized our agenda for the week. Also we took a tour of esteli which was lots of fun."
Shakir says "Today we were given a tour around Esteli, the real treat was a mural that was painted in 1989, the year funarte was set up, but more importantly it was painted by Janet and Dan!"
MarIa says "Beautiful house nice people lots of art and great fun!"
Frank says "We had a great day exploring the town and were amazed by the funarte project-they showed us the history of their work and took us to see some of their murals,tommorow we are going to start painting our mural"
Day 2
Paul says: it was fun working with Oscar, Rafa and Ramon. I am glad that we started on the mural but we witnessed really heavy showers.
Jessie says: It was good working with new people and sharing our skills. We started the mural and designing the colours .. it looks so bright and positive. The rain was really heavy and it looked refreshing but was cold.
Jenny says Today was a really productive day for us. We got a lot done and we got it done really fast which was good. The rain was absolutely amazing i couldn't believe how hard it rained. Yesterday was just wonderful.
Pretti Says : today was a really interesting day for me to , we came across the most rain i've ever seen in my life . Like the rain was so heavy and really really loud and it rained for like ages and we met two new people that are really good at art and came to help us which we thought was really nice . We managed to come up with the actual mural design and then had 3 photocopies of the design and between us we all painted a copy in pairs and came up with all different ideas of what colors to use . So basically today was fun !!!
Day 3
Paul says : today has been quite interesting because at first we started to draw the final design on to the grid which was on the wall from yesterday and then we went on our break . the best bit of the day was when we realised how much we got through in so little time. also jenny felt ill so she went back home and then when we came back from what we was doing i started to feel ill and i still am at the moment
Pretti says : guess what i just found a lizard ! how cool is that .. it was like realy small but at the same time really fast as well . it was actually pretty amazing . well ... today we ermm ... painted the wall and Rafa said that as a group we worked extremely hard and fast and didn't expect us to work as fast as we did , so that was good . I'm still feeling a bit stuffy but a lot better than i did at first so i guess thats good as well . However today i tried like a million times to call my mum and never seemed to get through which realy put me down cause i really miss her and wanted to talk to her but i guess i could always try tomorrow so that wasn't good at all : Well i'm off now Bye :D:D
Jessie says: It was good fun painting more of the mural , we have got lots done and it should be finished soon. Some of the boys found out my name and now they won't shut up .. they keep shouting out Jessie and staring at me .. god its annoying. I cleaned the whole house today and it is spotless . When I was cleaning i saw a frog , it was massive and it wouldn't move haha :D Thats it now bye x
