I came to England from Bangladesh in 2003. I really wanted to improve my English, but couldn’t afford to go to college. But then I met Juanita at the Bromley by Bow Centre, and enrolled on their ESOL course. After completing Entry Level 3, I did the Induction and Stepping Stone Childcare courses, and got a job at the Marner Crèche – it was a temporary job, but my first job in England!
I then sent my C.V. out to local schools, nurseries and agencies, and found a permanent job nearer to my home. Things are going really well, and I hope to become Team Leader soon.
My family – especially my husband and mother-in-law – have supported me and looked after my daughter while I was studying. She is now 4 years old and speaks English and Bangladeshi fluently.
