Planet Asthma was initially delivered at the Bromley by Bow Centre in March 2006 - October 2007 and was designed to use a different approach in the education and management of Asthma.
The project combines art and activities in a workshop programme developed by Yvonne Coughlan (Practice Nurse and Artist) and Dan Hopewell (Director of Services and Public Artist) at the Bromley by Bow Centre. What makes this programme appealing, is its ability to be effective in a variety of settings, i.e. in groups and one-to-one, and the activities are both generic and transferable.
From delivering this unique project, Planet Asthma has now been developed into two practical strands:
A training programme designed to provide the tools for your staff to deliver the programme in your community.
We can work directly with groups of young people & their families affected by asthma, using participation, inclusion and a hands on approach to engage the community.
