We have lots of opportunities for people to volunteer in the community, at the Centre and with local organisations. Volunteering is a great way of keeping busy, making friends and helping out in your community.
The Bromley by Bow Time Bank team is working with volunteers across the neighbourhood to help them link up with other volunteers and share skills and ideas. Time Banking is based on the idea that everyone has something to offer and everyone can benefit from others. For each hour a member spends helping someone, they get an hour of somebody else's help in return, in the form of a 'time credit'. They can 'spend' this time credit asking for help themselves; gardening, bicycle repairs, shopping, DIY - the list is endless.
The Time Bank is open to all and everyone's time is worth the same no matter what skills, knowledge or help one member offers to another. The scheme is flexible and safe and you can contribute as much or as little time as you like.
Is there something you need help with, or do you have a skill you want to share?
