What we do

In this section, you can find all the projects that the Bromley by Bow Centre runs. Please use the links on the left to find out more about what we do.

mother and childThe Bromley by Bow Centre has grown to become a very complex organisation, running a huge range of projects across different sites, both by ourselves and in partnership with others. We work with 2,000 people each week, and our services are tailored to the needs of the whole community - families, young people, vulnerable adults and elders. We support people across a range of projects and services in 4 main ways:

  1. We support people to overcome chronic illness and unhealthy lifestyles.
  2. We enable people to learn new skills.
  3. We support people to become less grant dependent and to find work.
  4. We provide the tools to create an enterprising community.

We provide an integrated range of services, provided locally, where people need them and can access them. We pride ourselves on the quality of the services we provide, and are committed to delivering the highest possible standards.

The Centre itself is the hub for most of our services, and the beautiful buildings, set around a courtyard garden and surrounded by a park, provide a positive, inspiring and welcoming environment. We tap into the arts to build up people's self esteem and help them express their creativity.

We are a major driver in creating local jobs, opportunities and wealth, helping to raise aspirations and support people to transform their lives.

And we now work to share our experience more widely, helping to transform other deprived communities.

We have tried to categorise our work as logically as possible, but the demands of a website - where information is divided into sections - do not really reflect the way we work in practice. In reality, we aim to offer services that fit so closely together that there are no gaps inbetween.

It is much easier to illustrate our integrated approach by relating it to real life. Read Husnara's story.
