Yvonne Coughlan
Yvonne Coughlan currently works as a practice nurse at Bromley by Bow Healthy Living Centre, where her role encompasses both art and nursing in the development of Art and Health initiatives within the centre. Yvonne’s interest lies in making relief and collage to build
up surface textures.
In Yvonne's own words:
'I use depth and layers as a sculptural concern. My work uses abstraction and development of shape and form through the process of making. I take my cues from the landscape from the contrast of urban and rural environment and use these cues to develop a visual discourse based in feelings and memories. I have a great interest in the emotional subtext of work and see this as a necessary component of the finished piece.'
Yvonne gained a Sculpture Fine Art BA from Chelsea School of Art and has exhibited her work at various locations in London including Whitechapel Open, The Royal London Hospital and The Spitz Gallery.
