“Becoming a social entrepreneur has been life changing”
A proud single mum of five children, Sam’s passion is working with people of all ages who have experienced life challenges or mental health issues and seeing a change for better in their lives. This is how Find A Balance was created. Sam developed the idea for a social enterprise business and applied to the Centre’s Beyond Business programme, funded by Investec.
She was delighted to be accepted to get through the first stage of the programme and was supported to produce a detailed business plan. She then became part of a final ‘Dragons’ Den’ phase where the business idea is pitched to a group of experts and Sam became one of the winners.
Sam’s social enterprise runs programmes, workshops and groups to support individuals of all ages and families who are affected by mental health issues. They can access advocacy and guidance and receive support to get them into sustainable employment, education and engaging with their community.
“Bromley by Bow Centre, thank you for supporting me to reach my potential and fulfil my dream to become a social entrepreneur and give back to communities. It’s been life changing.”
