Wade's Story
“The Centre is so compassionate. It gives people a chance to show what they can do”
Wade came to the Bromley by Bow Centre through the employment and skills team. He started an apprenticeship as part of a Capital Talent programme and his potential was quickly identified. He then started to speak at Inspire sessions, encouraging other young people to start the programme. Through his apprenticeship, Wade qualified for level three business administration and was taken on by the employment team.
He was then approached by the sports and activities team who took him on as a sports coordinator. He soon made the role his own, working as a coordinator for the Active Futures training course. Wade’s flexibility finds him working with the 50+ Fit for All course and with courses for 16 to 21-year-olds.
Wade is now a development officer and has become an integral part of the physical activities team working with people with many different abilities and diverse backgrounds.
“The Centre is so compassionate. It gives people a chance to show what they can do.”
Wade sums up his experience:
