About the practice

St Andrews Health Centre is part of the Bromley by Bow Health Partnership. We are both a GP Practice for Registered Patients and a Hub providing extended access for Tower Hamlets patients.

BBBH St Andrew

St Andrews Registered Patients

We offer a wide range of health services and have a skilled and professional team who can help you to lead a more healthy life. Whether it is a specific medical worry you have or if you need help to change your lifestyle we can help. In addition to the GPs we offer a wide range of other services including: home visits, psychologist, health visitors, baby clinic, antenatal clinic, family planning, blood clinics, new patient health checks, nurse clinics.

Walk In Centre/Hub

The walk in centre has changed from a walk-in-and-wait service to a pre-booked appointment system. Appointments are only available to people who are registered with a Tower Hamlets GP Practice and can be booked either via your practice or by calling 111.

Appointments will be either with a GP or an ANP (Advanced Nurse Practitioner). ANPs will offer the same service as a GP in these appointments and all clinicians will have access to your medical records. This service will be available for 8am to 8pm (last bookable appointment is at 7.30pm) 365 days a year.

We do not provide the following in these appointments; you will need to see the GP you are registered with for these things:

  • Private Medicals and Home visits
  • Repeat Prescriptions (unless in an emergency)
  • Private referrals and statutory sick notes
  • Minor surgery
  • Travel immunisations and medicals
  • Referrals to NHS services (apart from two week wait cancer referrals

If you live in Tower Hamlets but are not registered with a GP practice, you can find out how and where to register by going to www.nhs.uk/ and entering your post code

If you do not live in Tower Hamlets and need medical help or advice please call 111.  If it is an emergency call 999.
