The coronavirus pandemic has had a profound impact on all of our lives, risking not least our health, but also our lifestyles, work and mental wellbeing. Now more than ever we need bright ideas that will rebuild our communities and support those most affected by Covid-19.
Find A Balance was created by single mum of five, Samantha Francis, to offer a bespoke support service to individuals and families affected by mental health issues.
When one of Samantha’s sons began to experience mental health issues, she saw first hand the impact that it can have on the rest of a family, as well as the fear that came from not wanting to notify the authorities or admit her son to hospital.
“Having to deal with this situation made me think about how many other families and individuals in the same situation have suffered or are suffering and do not know how to cope or where to get the best support.”
Find A Balance offers a range of programmes depending on the individual’s situation, including a 24 week programme supporting young adults with mental health issues into sustainable employment.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, they have adapted their model to go online instead of face-to-face. They also now offer group workshops, yoga and meditation as part of an online programme that gives even more support at a time when it’s needed most.
