We are delighted to announce the six talented winners of our 2023 Investec Beyond Business programme. The successful entrepreneurs were chosen after a final stage ‘Dragon’s Den’ style pitch. The programme, funded by Investec, offers seed funding and expert guidance from Investec volunteers to businesses that have been created for social impact.
Huge congratulations to this year’s winners (seen above) Hackney School of Food, Black Women in Real Estate, WAX Atelier, Wild Mosaic, Travel Hands and #Spiritwood. The event was also attended by Alderman Vincent Keaveny CBE in support of the Beyond Business initiative and #CityGivingDay.
We’re really looking forward to seeing these inspiring entrepreneurs further develop their businesses, working in partnership with many of the talented people at Investec and Bromley by Bow Centre.
To date, the Centre, together with Investec, has helped launch 56 social impact enterprises which in turn have created more than 375 jobs. We look forward to the contribution of this year’s winners to their communities and society at large.
Postscript
Due to alumni Jay Richards’ success and generosity we were able to award an additional winning entrepreneur this year with the share proceeds reinvested into the programme. That is the spirit this programme engenders – creating a sustainable cycle of giving back to communities and supporting purpose-driven entrepreneurs.
You can hear Jay talking about his own success in a podcast here
