The Centre’s employability programme is developed with, and delivered virtually, to 15-21 year olds in Tower Hamlets and Newham.

The coronavirus pandemic has created a number of challenges for young people looking to widen their network for employment or training. Many are finding the lock down period is an ideal time to get themselves prepared for employment or training as the world re-opens and job vacancies need to be filled. The course will also help prepare and connect those wishing to volunteer in the community.

The programme is delivered free-of-charge and consists of a series of virtual employability workshops, each lasting an hour.  Subjects covered include goal setting and personal motivation, CV workshop, interview preparation and techniques, job search and civic participation.

The sessions are employment and community-focused, the first workshop is an introduction to the programme and gives participants a chance to meet other. Participants will shape the programme to meet their needs and ensure the learning is fun and effective.  This may include preparation for virtual job interviews, happening more often at the current time.

The course is generously funded by the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners Fund.
