EastXchange celebrated three years of the project last month, by hosting a “Thank you” event for our members at the Raddison Blu in Canary Wharf.
EastXchange is a time-banking project, where local residents and patients to share skills with each other to help tackle issues of social isolation and eradicate loneliness.
Many friendships have been created over the last 3 years and 20,000 hours have been exchanged by members.
EastXchange has been working across five hubs in Tower Hamlets, including the Bromley by Bow centre, St Andrews Health Centre, and XX Place as well as Housing Hubs, Blackwall Reach Centre and Exmouth Estate.
We have worked with 550 people across these hubs, connecting people with each other and creating a social network. Our activities will be continuing across the hubs and are open to anyone who has a skill to share or wants to learn a new skill and is willing to give some of their time back in return.

EastXchange has been generously funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for the last three years.
