We wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the Rise 2 Shine event on 30th March.

The event brought together over 70 parents, social prescribers and representatives from local primary schools, children’s centres, businesses and the local authority, to discuss ways to work together to make the area even better for children and families.

We had a brilliant presentation from the Bromley By Bow ActEarly Community Researchers and there was also a chance for patients to register interest for the new cohort of DIY health.

People took the opportunity to register interest in our Community Leadership Programme that starts in May, and to find out more about Community Voting Day which is an opportunity to pitch projects to get funding.

Ideas and priorities were also discussed, with ‘Activities for children and families together’ voted the most important by the group.

“We feel like our voice is being heard and good targets are being set. It feels impressive to see all communities connecting.”

  • Feedback from the day

Rise 2 Shine is a project that works with GP surgeries, local parents and organisations to make Mile End East and Bromley by Bow an even better place for children and families. If you’ve got any questions, ideas or you’re keen to connect please contact Jessica Walker Jessica.Walker@bbbc.org.uk.
