On Saturday 21st May we held our lastest Community Voting Day, and the first in-person one since 2019.
160 people attended to support, and vote for 17 local projects designed to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in Tower Hamlets – all of which received funding.
Community Voting Days provide people with the opportunity to pitch their community project ideas to prospective beneficiaries in order to receive up to £1000 funding to get their idea off the ground.
Winning ideas included mother and baby yoga, art for mental health, drama therapy, mother and kids exercise, intergenerational cooking and many more.
Attendees reported enjoying the feeling of community, hearing personal stories and meeting people and feeling glad to live in a borough with such a wonderful, supportive community.
Huge thank you to all who pitched and supported on the day. Stay tuned for updates about the new local projects happening in Tower Hamlets.
