Marcia Maximin has been part of the Bromley by Bow family for over thirty years and played such an important role for so many of us. It is hard to describe the effect of her loss, or the extent of her contribution. From being a member of our youth groups as a teenager to becoming one of our longest serving trustees, Marcia has been at the heart of the Bromley by Bow Centre.
She was the Centre’s longest-serving trustee in two separate periods over 18 years, helping us lead the organisation, supporting all of us in what we do. She wasn’t afraid to make tough decisions at important times but was a constant source of support and always had positive things to say.
Marcia was a great friend and encourager. Just before she died unexpectedly, she messaged us to say how much she appreciated what the Centre is delivering amid this current crisis and congratulated us on ‘the amazing work’ we are doing.
Marcia was very special and we will miss her so much. We express our sincere condolences to her family.
