A series of photography workshops have helped people connect to others, develop their creativity and manage the unusual circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic.
The fun and playful photography courses enabled local people, with little or no experience of photography, to develop skills that help create and share reflections of their lives.
The course was developed by a highly talented local photographer, Pierre Bureau who ran a successful Centre street photography course. Local people from a diversity of cultures, age groups and experiences have been engaged and recruited through social media and our Social Prescribing service. For people who are experiencing isolation, these projects are providing a way to bring them together in an inspiring way.
Each course ran for 7 weeks and there is a new photography assignment each week which is producing a collection of impressive work. The current theme is ‘The Sea Between Us’ and a series of images from this is shared below.
The courses were followed by exhibition events which will bring people together in person for the very first time.
