An exciting new partnership with Chickenshed, an inclusive North London theatre company, begins this spring at the Centre.  Chickenshed creates theatre for all ages based on the belief that everyone can flourish when everyone is included.

The team from Chickenshed’s, ‘The Space Between Us Programme’ are running three taster arts workshops. These sessions have the aim of recruiting local people to sign up to an inspiring summer community arts project beginning in April 2022.

Chickenshed creates theatre for all ages and runs successful outreach projects, education courses and membership programmes throughout the year. The Space Between Us Programme was born out of the desire to bring together a group that crossed generations, from all sides of society and developed a creative platform to have conversations, explore histories and devise theatre together.

The three workshops take place at 1.30-3.00pm in the My Space creative area at the Centre and may include conversation, music, crafts, writing, movement, spoken word and film. Everyone is welcome and absolutely no experience of theatre is required.

These sessions offer a chance to drop in and meet the team and have a go at something creative, a chance to chat, meet each other and learn more about the project. The sessions are informal and fun and you can be as involved as much or as little as you like. Our café will be serving hot and cold lunches before the sessions if you arrive early, and hungry.

Just drop in or if you’d like to know more contact clare.kelly@bbbc.org.uk or call 07908 659 669.
