Following the recent national Volunteers Week, the Centre welcomed a group of volunteers from Morgan Stanley as part of their giving back programme.

One group worked all morning and another in the another in the afternoon to provide much-needed support in the Centre’s park.

One of the jobs they undertook was to apply stain to new wooden sleepers, recently installed in the Centre’s peace garden as borders for the beds. The garden is a haven for wildlife and treasured by our local community and the volunteers worked hard and left the area looking delightful. They also planted bulbs and weeded the beds.

The Centre’s horticulture team leader was very appreciative of the volunteer groups:

“The groups from Morgan Stanley were really hardworking”

said Sharon Bidecant, head gardener

“they were also great fun and we had a lot of laughs while the work was underway. We really welcome volunteer support and it’s clear the volunteers enjoy working outside in nature, getting their hands dirty and knowing they are making a lovely natural space even lovelier for people in our local community, many of whom don’t have outside space at home.”
