Social Prescribing approaches for Frontline Staff

This training is for people who are interested in adopting social prescribing approaches when supporting their clients. This course will ensure that you understand what social prescribing is and how it’s delivered. 

It is designed for frontline staff who support clients in a wide range of organisations, such as; community centre staff, housing officers, children’s centre staff and other similar roles. It is also suited for primary and social care team members, including; receptionists, care navigators, care coordinators, health and wellbeing coaches, community navigators and those wishing to become a social prescriber. Please note we also run a separate but similar course for those who are already working as social prescribing link workers.  

The training is designed for workers to adapt to a holistic way of working, imparting the skills and confidence to incorporate a social prescribing approach to their work with individuals. This training will encourage the best approach to take when working with clients. 

This training is composed of 3 x 2h30 live sessions + 3 pre-recorded tutorials

  • An introduction to social prescribing, including Good Conversations, and strengths based approaches
  • Supporting vulnerable people
  • Introduction to behaviour change and motivational Interviewing approaches
  • Professional support and peer supervision
  • How to signpost and refer clients to a range of local services
