Community Development Officer

Deadline: Wednesday 23rd January 2019, 12pm

Interviews: Week commencing Monday 28th January 2019

The Bromley by Bow Centre is a vibrant community centre in the heart of Tower Hamlets. The Centre is a charity with a national and international reputation for its innovative work in inspiring and empowering the people from the local community, using a unique model of integration. It supports over 2,000 people each month.

The Community Development Officer will support and promote the Tower Hamlets rental charter throughout the borough, raising awareness of it in the community and ensuring the charter is implemented more consistently and effectively. The role will support a small number of private renters to come together in a peer support group, enabling them to have more of a voice.

The Community Development Officer will also sit on the working group of the Private Renters charter, and will support landlords of properties in multiple occupation to be accountable for their actions, while also supporting tenants to be able to enforce their legal rights. The post-holder will have to work in compliance with the requirements of the Advice Quality Standards (AQS), Advice UK, Matrix standards and the various contracts the Centre delivers.

If this sounds like you then we are keen to hear from you.
