The Bromley by Bow Centre is a vibrant community centre in the heart of Tower Hamlets. The Centre is a charity with a national and international reputation for its innovative work in inspiring and empowering the people from the local community, using a unique model of integration. It supports over 2,000 people each month.
Our new Director of Finance Operations will have organisation-wide leadership responsibilities and will play a key role in ensuring that the charity operates effectively and sustainably. This is a senior role and the postholder will work closely with other Directors to deliver the strategic vision of the Centre.
We continuously develop and deliver a set of highly diverse projects that serve a broad range of community needs, with these services delivered in a complex set of buildings and through many different partnerships. This role is therefore vital, as in addition to providing sound financial management, the postholder will lead on Insurance and Risk Assessment, Information Technology and Facilities; ensuring that the Centre’s operations run coherently and efficiently and that the property portfolio is managed effectively.
We seek a qualified accountant, with wide and extensive experience of budget/financial management, extensive staff management and leadership experience, and crucially, the ability to operate as part of a senior corporate decision-making team. The role is about driving efficient and effective systems; but it also requires a constant eye to building on the charity’s strong creative and innovative team energy and culture.
