The Bromley by Bow Centre is a vibrant community centre in the heart of Tower Hamlets. The Centre is a charity with a national and international reputation for its innovative work in inspiring and empowering the people from the local community, using a unique model of integration. It supports over 2,000 people each month.

The Head of Philanthropy role will grow the income from major donors, corporates, individuals and events, the current postholder has done some great work to establish this programme but there is a lot more potential to explore for someone ambitious and passionate about equality.

This role will lead on setting the strategy for soliciting and cultivating relationships with supporters, but it will also allow you to do the hands-on fundraising, be at the heart of the work and manage the relationships with donors.

You will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in securing funding from new donors ideally across a mix of income streams but specifically with major donors and corporates
  • A genuine passion for equality and the work of the Bromley By Bow Centre
  • Experience in relationship-building with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with internal stakeholders and senior individuals with both influencing and negotiating skills
